Global Grand Canyons LLC is the company that operates on the rivers listed on the SierraRios webpages. SierraRios" literally translates to "Mountain Rivers", and is derived from Spanish terms for the rivers that flow through the major mountains in Mexico and Latin America. In much of Latin America, mountain ranges are called "Sierras". For example, We organize expedition river trips which are multi-day raft-support expedition trips of 7+ days on the Grand Canyon-type rivers around the world and are threatened with dams.
