This trip is designed for those of you who are looking for a great paddling adventure! Kayak down the amazing and completely unspoiled Nam Xeung River which is surrounded by a stunning limestone landscape and conveniently located northeast of Luang Prabang. The river includes some truly exciting rapids that are however suitable for all levels The day starts off with a two-hour road trip firstly via route 13 north before branching off along a dirt road and into some spectacular limestone landscapes! We continue onwards taking in the views until reaching the starting point of our kayaking trip at Pak Xeng village which is situated on the banks of the Nam Xeuang River. You will start off by receiving some basic paddling instructions and practice before heading off down the river! The first stretch takes us through some light rapids of grade 1 to 2 which are suitable for beginners. In the rainy season, the rapids can at times increase up to level 4 which provides some really great fun but remains suitable for all levels! We continue onwards down the river until lunchtime where we stop for a Lao style picnic lunch at a scenic spot on the riverside. Hereafter enjoying our lunch there is time for swimming, relaxing or for the more adventurous... cliff jumping into the deep, cool Nam Xeuang River below. In the afternoon we continue on down the river until arriving in Ban Houa Sking a village of the Khmu hill tribe. Here we spend a bit of time in the village before returning to Luang Prabang.
