On this guided introductory high-alpine climbing experience, you’ll be introduced to the equipment, ascend a few pitches, and cross the suspension bridge at Mt Norquay. This 2.5-hour loop takes you up 235 metres to 2,235 metres above sea level and is great for anyone who is limited on time or who is looking for an introduction to Via Ferrata.
A continuation of the Explorer Route, the four-hour Ridgewalker Route crosses the suspension bridge and heads up the Banff Mt Norquay cliffs to the Ridgewalker Summit, climbing Memorial, Sol and Vista buttresses.
The Alpinist Route takes in all that the popular Ridgewalker tour offers but continues out and along the ridge to the epic Norquay “Panoramadome”, then follows the scenic narrow crest of the mountain for 600m. Expect continuous moderate to strenuous exertion on this itinerary, with brief breaks.
The Skyline Route includes an exciting high traverse on a sheer rock wall, a scenic ridgecrest trail walk and an “airy” 55m suspension bridge. With Banff as a backdrop over 1,000 metres below, walk the uber-scenic ridgecrest trail as it leads you back to the Cliffhouse Bistro to celebrate your mountaineering accomplishments. This 5-hour loop takes you up to 2,400 metres above sea level.
The Summiteer tops out at the highest point of the via ferrata and traverses an alpine ridge, crossing a 3-wire suspension bridge over an impressive couloir. This 6-hour loop takes you up to 2,450 metres above sea level and is great for those seeking a challenge.
