Langtang Valley offers multiple adventure opportunities for climbing enthusiasts. The beautiful region, of Langtang, is much nearer to Kathmandu valley which can be reached by a short drive from the capital city of Kathmandu. It is known for being the home of Tamangs, the ancient horse-riding warriors. It is also home to numerous peaks, the tallest of which is Langtang Lirung (7,246 m/ 23,773 ft). Langtang Valley provides access to peaceful landscapes and alpine forests apart from being the gateway to the numerous Himalayan Peaks. The major attraction of the valley is the holy lake Gosainkunda. You get a great opportunity to explore the unique culture of the Tamangs, their lifestyle, and their celebrations that add colors to this land gifted by nature. Gosaikunda Lake attracts plenty of pilgrims around the year. They visit the place with an intention of taking a holy dip in the sacred water of the Lake. The Langtang region is also a famous producer of Yak Cheese. Some protected animal species like the Langurs and Red Pandas call this region, protected Langtang National Park, their home. The trails of this trek run in close proximity to the mountains offering exquisite views of Mt. Annapurna and Ganesh Himal.
