For independent hikers who prefer to set their own pace but want expert guidance for the final ascent, this semi-guided climb offers the best of both worlds.
After making your way to Spilios Agapitos Hut (Refuge A), you’ll meet your guide in the morning for a safety briefing and equipment check. From there, with a helmet and harness provided, you’ll begin the ascent toward Mytikas (2,918m), the highest peak in Greece. The route includes well-marked trails and a final scrambling section, where your guide ensures a safe and smooth climb using ropes when necessary.
This option is ideal for those who prefer to organize their own approach to the hut, whether arriving the day before or combining it with a longer itinerary. With the flexibility to plan your own schedule up to the hut, you get the freedom of an independent trek while benefiting from professional guidance exactly when needed—on summit day.
After reaching Mytikas and taking in the breathtaking views, you’ll descend with your guide back to Spilios Agapitos, completing an efficient and well-supported climb.

Maintaining this timeframe is important for the overall success and safety of the experience.

This trip is designed for adults and children over 16 years old, who can participate with prior evaluation. While we welcome young adventurers, their participation will be accepted only after a review of their fitness and performance level. The safety of all participants is our top priority, and the guide may alter the itinerary if, at any point, the required safety conditions for a safe climb cannot be met. We want to ensure an enjoyable and secure experience for everyone.
7:00–9:00 AM:
Meet your guide at Spilios Agapitos Hut at the scheduled time (to be communicated in advance, based on the season). The day begins with a briefing on the itinerary, followed by an equipment check, where we’ll provide you with a helmet and climbing harness.
11:30 - 12:00 PM
Set off from Spilios Agapitos Hut towards Mytikas, the summit of Mount Olympus. The climb typically takes around 2.5-3 hours to reach the top. During the final section, which involves scrambling, your guide will ensure your safety by attaching you to a rope and offering guidance throughout.
12:10–12:15 PM:
Reach the summit of Mytikas (2918m), the highest point in Greece. Take time to rest, enjoy a snack, admire the breathtaking views, and capture stunning photos at this iconic destination.
12:10–12:15 PM:
Begin your descent back to Spilios Agapitos Hut via the same route. The return journey takes approximately 2.5 hours.
3:00 PM:
Arrive back at the hut to conclude your adventure.
