Himalayan Planet Adventures

One of the most popular trekking experiences worldwide is trekking to the Base Camp of Everest. This trek takes you to the foot of Mount Everest (8848m), the highest peak of the world located in Sagarmatha National Park, and one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This is suitable for people who are experienced trekkers. However, if you are new to trekking, you may choose the Everest Base Camp Trek of 20 days, which is more acclimatized and suited for the beginners. This adventurous journey will take you to see the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan Mountain range such as Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse and the rich Himalayan fauna such as the Himalayan Thar, Snow Leopard and many more. The trail towards Everest Base Camp is the very same ancient route used by the locals for many years. You will walk by many suspension bridges above rivers like Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi, small villages, high mountains, and monasteries. The trail will also take you through the green fields and forest of rhododendron, oak, and pine, as well as rocky and snowy steps. The major attraction on the Everest Base Camp trek is the climb to Kala Patthar (5545m) which is the highest altitude you will reach in this Everest Base Camp trek. Other highlights include the villages of Namche and Khumjung, the Tyangboche monastery, Sherpa culture and tradition, and of course friendly locals, diverse terrain, and alpine valleys.

It will be 6-7 hours of trek in order to reach Namche where you will cross the suspension bridge of Dudh Koshi and re-cross the same river again and again. On reaching Benkar, the view of Mt. Thamserku is impressive. Slowly ascend to Monjo, which is the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. Your permits will be checked there, and record of all the people entering the region is taken, which includes locals and tourists. Slowly, you will reach the Jorsalle village and walk in the river bed of the Imjatse river. From that point, the path to Namche Bazaar is winding uphill. Finally, you will reach Namche Bazaar with colorful houses and views of the mountains like Kwangde, Everest, Lhotse that are seen from various spots there.
Today is acclimatization day, which will help you adapt to air pressure and oxygen content in the region. You will rise early and have your breakfast, then go to Kyanjuma, which is at the same elevation as Namche Bazaar. It helps you to acclimatize and eliminate slackness that you may develop in the cold weather. You will then climb up to Everest View Hotel for a tea break and down to Khumjung village for lunch. You will have the opportunity to view Thamserku, Khaantaiga, Ama Dablam and Mt. Everest on your lunch break at Khumjung village. The walk starts again for about an hour with a view of mountains and Mani walls crossing bridges. Finally, you will reach Pangboche, your stop for the day. Overnight at Pangboche
The journey today will take you through lush vegetation. Right after breakfast, head towards Dingboche. The tree lines vanish from the path, and you will move through Imjatse valley. On reaching Dingboche, you will find a barrier constructed out of stone that protects the crop and potatoes growing in the field from grazers. Overnight at Dingboche.

After the day of attunement, your trail diverts to the north. Saunter up to Mani walls and prayer stupa. Then your trek becomes gentler through meadows. The beauty of the mountains will amaze you as the snow-white peak dazzles with the rays of the sun. After some pleasant walk at ridges, reach Thukla. See peaks west of Everest which includes Mt. Pumori after reaching the top. Be sure to rest on your way as the walk is tiresome. Many memorials of unfortunate climbers can be seen near the area who lost their lives to live their dream of conquering Mt. Everest. After an hour or so, you will reach Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.
You have sustained and gone through such an arduous journey. So, today, it will be fruitful. You will head towards Gorak Shep. The path is windy and rocky, so be careful on the way. Finally, you have reached the base of Everest. Now, retrace your way back to Gorak Shep for the night.
Yesterday, you reached the base of Everest, but the view of the mountain is not very clear as cold winds block your sight. So, you will see the Mt. Everest from the highest possible point of this trek, Kala Patthar. It is 2 hours walk to Kala Patthar which will give you a bird's eye view of the Khumbu region and much clear sight of Mt. Everest. The Khumbu glacier is right below you. After taking in sight, go back to Gorak Shep for breakfast and move towards Periche. Walk early and in a pace as it might be difficult in the afternoon due to strong winds. Periche also has a rudimentary hospital associated with Himalayan Rescue Association. Visit the place after 3:00 pm if necessary. Overnight at Periche.
It's an easy walk downhill with a duration of 5-6 hours. So, right after breakfast, start your journey to Tengboche. Tengboche is a beautiful Buddhist settlement. You will overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Today, we trek back to Lukla. It is a long trek to Lukla, about 7-8 hours. You will have lunch at Phakding. The green scenery with Mountain View is the same but seems different as you are moving the opposite way. After reaching Lukla, rest at your teahouse and stroll around the area. The guides will confirm your ticket back to Kathmandu. Enjoy warm dinner with your crew members and your talk about the successful journey. Overnight at Lukla.
Today, right after breakfast, you will have an early flight back to Kathmandu. As we are careful about your safety, the flight will be early because of the windy condition later in the day. However, the flight may also be canceled due to adverse weather conditions and any other reasons. So, we can't do much about these phenomena. After your flight, you will be dropped at your hotel. It is time to rest your body from all the walks you had in your journey. Take a warm bath to ease your sore body and relax for the day. Overnight at Kathmandu.
It's leisure day today. Be sure to rest or explore the city of Kathmandu on your own as we will confirm your flight for the departure and make arrangements of your drive to the airport.
