Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft) A warm welcome to our lovely guests who arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport to start an amazing and one of the most beautiful treks of all times towards the Everest Base Camp. When you'll arrive at the terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport, the representative of Himalayan Planet Adventure will be waiting to pick you up by holding your name card. Then you will be escorted to your deluxe hotel. Freshen up before you visit our main office. You will be briefed about your upcoming adventure and meet your guides. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have regarding any subject or you can consult your guide on your trek to Everest Base Camp. In the evening, you will be provided with a welcome dinner consisting of Nepali cuisine and a cultural program.
Day 2 Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft), 3-4 hrs walk The real trek to Everest Base Camp begins today. Right after breakfast, you will take a domestic 35 mins flight to Lukla. The trip can be shifted early before breakfast, too, as the flight plan may change due to weather conditions. The flight to Lukla is a scenic and smooth flight. After you land at the airport, take a tea break as your guides will take care of your baggage and divide it into the local porters. You will walk for about 3-4 hours until you reach Phakding. The beauty of Numbur Himal and Phari will amaze you in your trek to Phakding. You will pass Sherpa village and follow the trail to Dudh Koshi. Have your lunch with the view of Kusum and Kangaru. Reach Ghat village after a short climb. Then it's just one and a half hour walk to reach Phakding. Overnight at Phakding.
Day 3 Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft), 4-5 hrs walk The trek today will take you to the main gateway to the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar. It will be 6-7 hours of trek in order to reach Namche where you will cross the suspension bridge of Dudh Koshi and re-cross the same river again and again. On reaching Benkar, the view of Mt. Thamserku is impressive. Slowly ascend to Monjo, which is the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. Your permits will be checked there, and record of all the people entering the region is taken, which includes locals and tourists. Slowly, you will reach the Jorsalle village and walk in the river bed of the Imjatse river. From that point, the path to Namche Bazaar is winding uphill. Finally, you will reach Namche Bazaar with colorful houses and views of the mountains like Kwangde, Everest, Lhotse that are seen from various spots there.
Day 4 Trek to Kyanjuma (3,550m/11,644ft), 3-4 hrs walk Today is acclimatization day, which will help you adapt to air pressure and oxygen content in the region. You will rise early and have your breakfast, then go to Kyanjuma, which is at the same elevation as Namche Bazaar. It helps you to acclimatize and eliminate slackness that you may develop in the cold weather. You will then climb up to Everest View Hotel for a tea break and down to Khumjung village for lunch. You will have the opportunity to view Thamserku, Khaantaiga, Ama Dablam and Mt. Everest on your lunch break at Khumjung village. Slowly descend to Kyanjuma where you can see Himalayan wildlife like Musk deer, Himalayan goat, Pheasants, and Mt. Ama Dablam. Overnight at Kyanjuma.
Day 5 Trek to Pangboche (3,930m/12,890ft), 5-6 hrs walk After a day of easy trek and acclimatization, you start your walk downhill with a view of different mountain peaks on the way. The path is laid with trees of pines, fir, magnolia, birch, and rhododendron. After some hours you will reach Tyangboche where you will have lunch. The walk starts again for about an hour with a view of mountains and Mani walls crossing bridges. Finally, you will reach Pangboche, your stop for the day. Overnight at Pangboche
Day 6 Trek to Dingboche (4,358m/14,295 ft), 3-4 hrs walk The journey today will take you through lush vegetation. Right after breakfast, head towards Dingboche. The tree lines vanish from the path, and you will move through Imjatse valley. Imjatse, a snow-capped eastern mountain, is also a popular trek area. You will see mountains like Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Lhotse on your way. On reaching Dingboche, you will find a barrier constructed out of stone that protects the crop and potatoes growing in the field from grazers. Overnight at Dingboche.
Day 7 Acclimatization at Dingboche 2-4 hrs hike As the trek halts for today, you can rest for the day to acclimatize or visit Chhukung, which is highly recommended. The journey to Chhukung is of 3-4 hours only. Head to Chhukung after a good breakfast. You will only find some teahouses on the way. The view of many peaks as Lhotse and Ama Dablam and Imja glacier covered in white is mind-blowing. Then head back to your teahouse on Dingboche. Overnight at Dingboche.
Day 8 Trek to Lobuche (4,928m/16164 ft), 4-6 hrs walk After the day of attunement, your trail diverts to the north. Saunter up to Mani walls and prayer stupa. Then your trek becomes gentler through meadows. The beauty of the mountains will amaze you as the snow-white peak dazzles with the rays of the sun. After some pleasant walk at ridges, reach Thukla. See peaks west of Everest which includes Mt. Pumori after reaching the top. Be sure to rest on your way as the walk is tiresome. Many memorials of unfortunate climbers can be seen near the area who lost their lives to live their dream of conquering Mt. Everest. After an hour or so, you will reach Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.
Day 9 Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,316m/17,437ft), 7-8 hrs walk You have sustained and gone through such an arduous journey. So, today, it will be fruitful. You will head towards Gorak Shep. The path is windy and rocky, so be careful on the way. On reaching Gorak Shep, check in at your teahouse, and you can already see beautiful peaks like Mt. Pumori, Nuptse, Everest Base Camp, and Kala Patthar from there. After refreshing yourself, you will walk towards Everest Base Camp and Khumbu glacier. Be sure to follow your guide matching his footsteps as the path changes because of moving glaciers. You will gain altitude, which will affect the air pressure. Everest Base Camp is quite a lively place on seasons as you will find many people that are eager to climb Everest camping there. Finally, you have reached the base of Everest. Now, retrace your way back to Gorak Shep for the night.
Day 10 Hike to Kala Patthar (5,550m/18,204ft) and Trek to Pheriche (4,200m/13,776ft), 7-8 hrs walk Yesterday, you reached the base of Everest, but the view of the mountain is not very clear as cold winds block your sight. So, you will see the Mt. Everest from the highest possible point of this trek, Kala Patthar. It is 2 hours walk to Kala Patthar which will give you a bird's eye view of the Khumbu region and much clear sight of Mt. Everest. The Khumbu glacier is right below you. After taking in sight, go back to Gorak Shep for breakfast and move towards Periche. Walk early and in a pace as it might be difficult in the afternoon due to strong winds. Periche also has a rudimentary hospital associated with Himalayan Rescue Association. Visit the place after 3:00 pm if necessary. Overnight at Periche.
Day 11 Trek to Tengboche (3,867m/12684ft), 4-5 hrs walk It's an easy walk downhill with a duration of 5-6 hours. So, right after breakfast, start your journey to Tengboche. Tengboche is a beautiful Buddhist settlement. The first thing that you will take your attention is significant monasteries. There's a large field with teahouses and campsites. You will stay at a teahouse that is right beneath the peaks of Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Lhotse Shar. You may also be able to see many animals and birds there like Musk Deer, Mountain Goats, and Pheasants.
Day 12 Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft), 4-5 hrs walk Today head towards the town of Namche Bazaar. The trail is the same with similar mountain views and forest. On the way to Namche Bazaar, you will reach a small settlement of Phungithanka. You will pass over the same suspension bridges and recall your memory of that beautiful place. After 5-6 hours of trek, you will reach Namche Bazaar. Explore the town of Namche Bazaar which has more facilities then that of other destinations you have traveled in higher altitudes. Chat with friendly locals and see their culture first hand. You will overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Day 13 Trek to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft), 7-8 hrs walk Today, we trek back to Lukla. It is a long trek to Lukla, about 7-8 hours. You will have lunch at Phakding. The green scenery with Mountain View is the same but seems different as you are moving the opposite way. After reaching Lukla, rest at your teahouse and stroll around the area. The guides will confirm your ticket back to Kathmandu. Enjoy warm dinner with your crew members and your talk about the successful journey. Overnight at Lukla.
Day 14 Flight back to Kathmandu Today, right after breakfast, you will have an early flight back to Kathmandu. As we are careful about your safety, the flight will be early because of the windy condition later in the day. However, the flight may also be canceled due to adverse weather conditions and any other reasons. So, we can't do much about these phenomena. After your flight, you will be dropped at your hotel. It is time to rest your body from all the walks you had in your journey. Take a warm bath to ease your sore body and relax for the day. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 15 Leisure/ Flight Reserve Day It's leisure day today. Be sure to rest or explore the city of Kathmandu on your own as we will confirm your flight for the departure and make arrangements of your drive to the airport. You can also extend your stay with us if you would like to see more of Nepal or explore other countries like India, Bhutan or Tibet, as we arrange trips in these regions too (with additional charges). You can explore the Thamel market and many chowks nearby the area around Thamel. You will find many temples and small stupas in these regions. In the evening, enjoy a complimentary farewell dinner for your successful trek of Everest Base Camp.
Day 16 Departure This is the day where we say our goodbyes with you. After your breakfast, you can go for a last-minute souvenir shopping. Then you will be dropped at the Tribhuvan International Airport. We hope that you enjoyed your stay and had an amazing Everest Base Camp trekking experience with us.
