Day 1 Cusco - City Walk Pick up at the airport and then transfer you to your hotel. In the early afternoon at 13:00 pm we pick you up from your hotel to start the tour in the city. Places to see Main Square, Cathedral, Sun temple, San Blas neighborhood. Overnight in Cusco (3* Hotel).
Day 2 Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes We will pick you up from your Cusco hotel around 07:30 am, then we will start our adventure. Our first stop after driving some minutes is El Mirador del Valle Sagrada, the Sacred Valley Lookout Point, for amazing views and photos. Following, we will visit the famous Pisaq Market, where people come down from the Andean villages to sell their textiles and vegetables. We will continue the journey up to the Pisaq Inca Archeological site, located on top of Pisaq Mountain in the Sacred Valley. our tour guide will take you to the most impressive spots. Then, we will drive along the valley for about an hour, until we reach Urubamba, where we will stop for lunch (Not Included). After lunch, we will drive to Ollantaytambo, where the second heaviest Inca monoliths are to be found. The ruins have an amazing Temple of the Sun, Moon, and The Temple of the 10 Niches. This living Inca town displays narrow walkways, lined with water channels. Later in the afternoon you will head the train station and catch your train to Aguas Calientes, the journey is just under two hours, descending into the Cloud Forest, where you will see orchids, bromeliads, and ferns. Day 3 Machu Picchu - Cusco Today is the highlight of all trips to South America - Machu Picchu! This world-famous site is the most remarkable pre-Colombian city in the world, partially because of its mystical beauty at its lofty place among the Andean cloud forests. A guided tour will help you discover and understand what Machu Picchu tells us about the life and customs of the Incan people. Surrounded by dramatic terraces cut into the mountainsides, your guide will give you a thorough history of the ruins and the Incas as well as share with you the possible explanations for the purpose of Machu Picchu. You have the optional opportunity to take the challenging hike to the top of Huayna Picchu, where you will have the best view of the site. This hike is highly recommended for people who are in the right physical condition, as it truly gives unparalleled views of Machu Picchu. After a long day of exploring this lost city, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Cusco. Upon arrival to Cusco, you will be brought back to your hotel for a good night
Day 4 On the way to Puno In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and drop you off at the Bus station. This is a really nice bus trip as it stops at four interesting sites along the way where you will have a guided tour and lunch at a restaurant. Places we will visit are Andahuaylillas: Sistine chapel of South America: this church is one of the most beautiful examples of Andean popular religious art. Raqchi (Wiracocha God Temple): This was an Incan church of monumental dimensions; 100 meters long, 26 meters wide and 14 meters high. The temple is divided in two naves and each nave shows 11 giant columns that are huge! La Raya: This is the half-way point between Cusco and Puno and also the highest point (4335 meters above sea level). The landscapes here are stunning and typical Andean animals like llamas, alpacas and vicunas are common. It is also the geographic border between two cultures, the Quechua and Aymara. Pukara: This is the most important and oldest ceremonial center of the altiplano where you can see interesting life-like sculptures and tombs. The trip also includes a really nice lunch buffet in a Sicuani town. We will arrive late in the afternoon to our Comfortable hotel in Puno. Overnight in Puno (3* Hotel).
Day 5 Floating Uros and Taquile Islands Early in the morning, we will transfer you from the hotel to the port and then on to the islands by motorboat. We will take you to one of the legendary islands of Uros, where you can observe the lives of the Uros people who live on the floating reed islands. After a beautiful three-hour boat ride, we reach Taquile Island, where we will break into smaller groups to stay with the local families. You have the opportunity to trek to the top of the mountain (4150 m.a.s.l) to see the Temples of Pachamama and Pachatata. Enjoy the traditional customs of the island people. Food and authentic music prepared and performed by your designated family. Then, we return back to Puno and transfer you back to your hotel. Overnight in Puno (3* Hotel).
Day 6 Transfer Out After breakfast, we will take you either to Juliaca (airport) or Cusco. Option 1: Transfer to Juliaca airport located only 45 minutes away from Puno. Option 2: Transfer to the bus station and back to Cusco.
