DETAILS
Nestled in the Southern Osa Penisula of Costa Rica, Corcovado National Park boasts more than 39 kilometers of beaches, rich in biodiversity. Visitors to the remote region may observe some 6,000 insects, 500 trees, 367 birds, 140 mammals, 117 amphibians and reptiles, and a plethora of freshwater fish species.
The La Sirena Ranger Station is where you will find the ranger station headquarters located in the heart of the Corcovado National Park. It takes about an hour by boat to get to Sirena beach. Once you are on the beach, the guide is going to take you to the ranger station to drop off your luggage and go on the first walk until 11.30 am. We then return to the station for lunch. The walk starts again at 1.30 pm and will last up until 5.30 pm. Dinner is served at 6.30 pm and the lights are turned off at 8.00 pm. The next day the walk starts at 5.00 am and will last until 7.30 at the latest in order to be back in the station for breakfast. After breakfast, we pack our stuff and have another short walk with the guide. The boat departs back to Drake Bay from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm depending on the tides for safety reasons.
