Meet your tour group and guides, getting to know the people you will share the adventure of a lifetime with!

In order to begin our acclimatization, we will drive for 40 minutes to the Paquiestancia community where we are going to hike around 15 km through some Andean forest. We are able to observe many birds such as wild turkeys and hummingbirds while we acclimatize between 2,800 m and 3,500 meters above the sea level. The Paquistancia community has developed nice trails as part of their community tourism. In the afternoon we will drive back to Guayllabamba lodge to have a nice dinner and rest for the next day. This amazing peak is located at Mojanda volcano with an altitude of 4,263 meters. After breakfast, we'll drive to Mojanda Lagoon where we will to park our jeep and start hiking towards the Fuya Fuya Summit. It's a short hike but can be very steep and will be where we'll start to feel and get used to the altitude. From the Summit, we will have an amazing view from de Caldera and Andean valleys. Lodging at Guayllabamba Lodge. B/L/D

This day will be a higher and more challenging mountain, but one of the most beautiful landscapes in northern Ecuador. From the Summit, you will experience a fantastic view of San Pablo Lagoon and the surrounding valleys. Hiking Imbabura will take between 6 to 8 hours depending on your pace. After our long hike, we will drive to low lands and have a delicious lunch. B/L/D

We will depart from Guayllabamba with all our climbing gear in order for some glacier practice with our crampons, harness and Ice axes. We will learn how to walk with our crampons over the ice and snow, and how to use the ice axe in case of slippery conditions. The rest of the afternoon we will rest at the hut and sleep early to start our climb at midnight. B/L/D

After a light meal, we will gear up with our harness, climbing boots, helmet and headlamp and start our ascent to the Summit of the Cayambe volcano. The climb is between 6 to 8 hours up and 4 hours down. We will expect to reach the Summit near sunrise to appreciate amazing views of the high Andes. After a long climb, we will reach the Hut at mid-morning to get in the car and drive back to Guayllabamba lodge and rest. B/L/D 

This day we will take more easy, after a nice breakfast we will drive to Quito and visit the colonial town where you can appreciate why is a World Cultural Heritage. You will be marvel with amazing churches and colonial architecture. We will have a typical lunch in the historic town and in the afternoon back to Guayllabamba lodge in order to have dinner and prepare your luggage for your next day. B/L/D

We will take you to the airport to catch your flight back home.
