Whether you choose to hike to the Annapurna Base Camp or the Annapurna Circuit trek, both include lodge stays. The history of lodge trekking is a fascinating subject in Nepal, and to understand it you have to know the meaning of a tea house. But what's a tea house? Nepal used to be mainly a climbing destination and there were only houses - not lodges and restaurants- on the trail through the remote regions climbers would visit. These houses used to sell tea to the climbers, but as more of them came, they started providing breakfast, lunch, dinner, accommodation, and tea to visitors. These houses were later converted into hotels and restaurants as climbers were followed by more and more trekkers. Most of the trekking agencies in Nepal love to use the old name - tea house -when they want to refer a trek to you, and they have added the word trekking to this, hence Tea House Trekking which actually means that your trip consists of both accommodation and meals.  So next time when you hear that you are going to go on a tea house trekking in the Everest Region or the Annapurna region or any other region of Nepal, it simply means accommodation and meals, including a guide and a porter - not just tea! When it comes to enjoying the comforts of the best lodge during your trek,  take into account the Annapurna Region. Compared with the Everest Region, access is easier as you don’t have to fly to reach the Annapurna. Why Annapurna Lodge Trek instead of others? Because you are going to experience the best of trekking and lodging and will be definitely impressed with the beautiful scenery of the region.
