Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most popular treks in Nepal. It is a valley of beautiful Himalayas, including the south face of Annapurna I (8091) at an elevation of 4130m from sea level. From the perspective of difficulty is more medium than other base camp treks. Our journey begins from Modi River in Nayapul after a short drive from Pokhara. We can see beautiful sceneries along the highway to Nayapul. Also, we can Peace Stupa and parts of the Annapurna range while driving. ABC trek is also known as Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. The lowlands hillside villages, majestic waterfalls, streams and rivers, hot springs, rice, and fields are the highlights of the trek.
Most of the hiking trails of Annapurna are on the stone steps. It involves some arduous hiking in Ulleri, Shinwa, and Chhomrong. While trekking in bamboos and rhododendron forests, we may see wildlife like monkeys, blue sheep, and the red panda. The trek gives different views from rice terraces to glacier moraine and superb high mountains. Machhapuchhre (6993m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Hiuchuli (6441), etc are the major peaks of the Annapurna region. And also, we can see Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) from Poon Hill. We may see the people herd sheep and goats on grassy ridges just by the base camp. We spend more than a week in the mountains before heading back to Pokhara and then Kathmandu.
Pokhara is a beautiful lakeside city in central Nepal. Phewa lake is one of the most popular lakes in Nepal. In the middle of the lake, there is a Barahi temple, frequented by many Hindu tourists. We visit the international museum, Gorkha Museum, and Seti gorge – a bonus tour of Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
