Day 1 Rafting & Quad Bike You'll be picked up from your hotel/meeting point at approximately 07.30 and taken to the start of your rafting adventure. Choose between Rafting the easier Ayung River (Grade 2-3 grade rapids) OR the more challenging Telaga Waja River (Grade 3-4 rapids) Both rivers take you through some of the most stunning scenery in Bali with towering waterfalls, high cliffs, and lush river valleys along with exhilarating rapids and some calming flat water sections.
Note: the lower the number or Grade, the easier the rapids. Both rivers have some exciting sections for those who have not rafted much (or at all). If your children are 10 or under we recommend the Ayung River option.
Lunch is included with your rafting.
12.30-13.00 Drive to Villa Jempana. As we come to the top of the caldera outer rim at Kintamani you will be met by a view that you will never forget as you first look out over Mt Batur, Lake Batur, the lava flows, villages within the caldera and towering mountains in the distance, including the mother of all Bali’s mountains, Mt Agung. The drive time is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.
14.30 Arrive Villa Jempana
Villa Jempana provides the ideal lakeside location with easy access to your activities, large comfortable rooms, a swimming pool and a restaurant.
16.00-17.30 Get ready for some excitement as you explore the trails and lower slopes of Mt Batur on an ATV/Quad bike. We think this is by far the best location for Quad Biking in Bali.
Note:
• The minimum age to drive the ATV/Quad Bike is 15 so all under 15’s must ride tandem.
• When operated carefully, ATVs/Quad bikes are safe however like any vehicle they can be dangerous if operated carelessly or by inexperienced operating machinery. Therefore if you have a family member 15+ it may still not be appropriate to self-drive if the person has little or no experience operating any type of vehicle.
• The operator, Balad, is experienced in operating these tours and has selected ATV/Quad Bike routes and operating procedures with safety foremost in mind so please follow their instructions and you should have a great and safe time
Dinner: Villa Jempana (included)
Day 2 Hiking Mt Batur, Snorkeling and/or Fishing Morning: Hike Mt Batur Volcano within the Kintamani Caldera. With good reason, this is the most popular hike in Bali and can easily be done with a moderate level of fitness. If the skies are clear, you will have unforgettable views of the caldera, lava flows from eruptions back in the early 1960s, Lake Batur & Bali’s biggest mountain, Mt Agung.
Note: Guests can choose to do the early sunrise hike or get up a little later and do the hike around 7.30-8.00.
If the sunrise is not important to you, we like the later hike as most of the other hikers have finished by then or are on their way back down the mountain.
On return to the Villa Jempana we have brunch and then drive to the northeast coastal town of Amed, staying at the Coral View Villas.
Coral View Villa is the perfect Amed getaway with immaculate gardens, a large swimming pool, a beachside restaurant and direct beach access to a good snorkeling area featuring lots of colorful fish and coral.
Day 3 Bike/Hike/Snorkel/Fish/Try SCUBA With its many varied coral reefs and abundance of marine life, Amed is famous for its snorkeling and SCUBA so you may like to choose Snorkeling as your main activity for the morning. If you do, then your guide will take you to 2-3 different sites best suited to your family. However, if you prefer something else you can go for a snorkel out the front of the hotel before breakfast then select one of the following activities:
Mt Bike Riding: our local Bike riding guide, Bajing, knows all the best ways to see this quiet, well-preserved area of Bali so that you get the most out of your ride. or Hiking: there are two hike options: one down a paved valley road which is about 6km and the other up in the hills behind Amed. For photos of the Hills Hike please see the photo gallery or Fishing: Try fishing from a colorful local Balinese fishing boat known as a Jukungor SCUBA Diving: SCUBA dives for licensed divers (there is a modest extra cost: please ask us) or Experience the thrill of breathing underwater with “Try SCUBA” for those with no experience.
