Suggested Itinerary
Cusco Pitumarca - Quesiuno - Anantapata - Surinaqocha
This thrilling adventure begins with our pickup from your accommodation at 5:00 am. After a two-hour drive in our private vehicle to Pitumarca, followed by another hour and a half to reach Quesiuno, the starting point of our hike, we will be ready to immerse ourselves in nature. While we prepare, our cook will prepare an energy-boosting meal to give you the necessary boost for the day. Before starting the hike, our guide will share the details of the route and provide important safety tips for the upcoming two days.
Our journey starts through a green valley with views of the majestic Ausangate glacier, the highest peak in the Cusco region. Along the way, we will encounter local communities and witness their close relationship with nature. We will continue ascending until we reach the Abra Pukaqocha (4,985 m / 16,355 ft), where we will be greeted by the stunning Pukaqocha lagoon and the imposing Ausangate glacier.
After a well-deserved rest and a delicious lunch in Anantapata, we will ascend to the highest point of the day, Abra Warmisaya, from where we will have our first glimpse of the vibrant colors and beauty of Rainbow Mountain, Vinicunca. Finally, we will descend to our camp next to the Surinaqocha lagoon, where we will enjoy a well-deserved rest, accompanied by refreshments and hot drinks, followed by a comforting dinner before retiring to rest under the starry Andean sky.
