DETAILS
Manaslu (8,163 m/26,781 ft), also known as Kutang is the eighth-highest mountain in the world. It is located in the Mansiri Himalayan Range in the west-central part of Nepal. Its name, which means "mountain of the spirit", comes from the Sanskrit word Manasa, meaning "intellect" or "soul. We, Namaste Nepal Trekking & Research Hub consider the Manaslu Reason among the best trekking regions in Nepal. Despite its recent rise in popularity, the Manaslu Trek remains remote and off-the-beaten-path compared to the better-known teahouse treks in Nepal. The trek takes you around Manaslu, the world's eighth-highest mountain at 8,163 meters. The Manaslu region is one of the “Best Kept Secret” trekking areas of Nepal. It is far less crowded than other well-known peers Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Circuit. There are still about 10 times fewer trekkers on the Manaslu Trail. The trek is wild and remote. The first part of the trail follows the Budi Gandaki, a deep, long river gorge, with many suspension bridges. As we go higher we will experience the culture of Gurung people living on the lap of the Himalayas. Manaslu has a lot to offer to the trekkers, from the beautiful scenery of the majestic Himalayan Ranges and high altitude glassier lakes to rich biological and cultural diversity as we trek from the subtropical jungle at lower elevations, through the Himalayan foothills to the high, cold and challenging crossing of the Larkya La at an elevation of 5,106m/16,752 ft, The highest point reached along the trek route is which is widely believed to be one of the most dramatic pass crossing the Himalayas. Best Time for Manaslu Circuit Trek For the Manaslu Circuit Trek, Spring (March, April, May) and Autumn (September, October, November) are the best months. The air, freshly washed by the monsoon rain, is crystal clear, stunning mountain scenery, and the weather is still comfortably warm. Manaslu circuit trek can't be done in winter, Trekking trails above Samagaun (3390m/11120ft) Village are usually blocked by heavy snowfall, and all the teahouses above Samagaun are closed. Manaslu Circuit Trek can be taken during monsoon too, but the Moonsoon cold can be bitter and the trails can be slippery due to the monsoon rain, you might have to trek all day under the rain without any views and Nepal’s famous Juka (leeches) are an unpleasant feature of the wet season, but with care, trekking can still be possible and there are certainly fewer trekkers on the trail.
