Bear-watching walking adventures in Slovakia are one of our most popular tours in the Tatra Mountains! Experienced bear guides will take you to the places with the best chance of spotting brown bears. We do about 30 tours in 4 months.
Seeing the brown bears in their territory is always great, even for our guides, as every day is different. But besides the brown bear, we will spot chamois, red deer, and bird species.
The Tatra Mountains National Park offers many places where you can spot them. Possible places to see them are in the village of Ždiar, the central mountain, as well as in the western Tatra mountain. We will take you to one of the best places to see them. Located near the village of Podbanské. The hike takes 7km into the valley and 7km back.

Everybody in the group has their binoculars. Our first possible spot to see the brown bear will be in the first 60 minutes of the hike.
We make many stops while on a hike, and our guide will do his best to find the bear! Besides bear watching, our guides will teach you the names of the flowers, berries, mushrooms, and trees growing in the Western Tatra Mountains.
Once we find the bear or bears in the valley, we stay with them for as long as we see them!
We had a great hike in a fantastic valley with tons of pictures and videos. Your guide will send you his photos through online cloud storage:)
