What to Expect on this 7 Iconic Stops Tour

1. Bow Falls

Your first stop brings you to the powerful Bow Falls, just minutes from downtown Banff. Here, you will witness the strength of the Bow River as it cascades over a wide rocky ledge, framed by Mount Rundle in the distance. This easy-access viewpoint offers incredible photo opportunities and a classic Rockies landscape to begin your adventure.

2. Surprise Corner

Next, you will visit one of Banff’s most photographed viewpoints. Surprise Corner overlooks the Bow River and offers a stunning view of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel nestled below Sulphur Mountain. It is the perfect place to pause, take in the scenery, and capture that iconic Banff shot.

3. Hoodoos Viewpoint

A short and easy walk leads you to the Hoodoos Viewpoint, where you will see fascinating rock formations shaped by thousands of years of erosion. Overlooking the Bow Valley, this stop combines unique geology with sweeping mountain views, offering a different perspective of the park.

4. Lake Minnewanka

Lake Minnewanka is the highlight of the tour and one of Banff’s most breathtaking glacial lakes. Surrounded by towering peaks, this expansive lake stretches deep into the wilderness. It is also one of the best areas in Banff to watch for wildlife.

You will have plenty of time here to enjoy the lake at your own pace. Take a lakeside stroll, explore the viewpoints, capture photos, and soak in the fresh mountain air.

Wildlife Learning Moment (Optional)

During our time at Lake Minnewanka, your guide will set up an immersive educational wildlife table with real props, including bear paw replicas, elk antlers, and more. This is a fun addition for guests who want to learn more about the animals that call the Rockies home, what to look for, how they live, and how to stay safe in wildlife country. Participation is completely optional, and you are always welcome to continue exploring the shoreline instead.

Optional Lake Minnewanka Cruise (Tickets not included)

If you would like to add the Lake Minnewanka Classic Cruise, operated by Pursuit, you are welcome to do so during our two-hour stop. Cruise tickets must be purchased separately and in advance. You must select the 5:00 PM departure for it to fit within the tour schedule.

5. Two Jack Lake

Continuing along the scenic Minnewanka Loop, you will stop at Two Jack Lake, a quieter and picturesque lake known for its calm waters and beautiful mountain backdrop. This peaceful stop provides another fantastic opportunity for photos and a chance to soak in the serene surroundings.

6. Mount Norquay Lookout

From here, we will head higher for panoramic views over the town of Banff and the surrounding mountain ranges. The Mount Norquay Lookout gives you a sweeping perspective of the Bow Valley, showcasing just how vast and dramatic the landscape truly is.

7. Vermilion Lakes

We will end the tour at Vermilion Lakes, a tranquil wetland area famous for its reflections of Mount Rundle. In the evening light, this location becomes especially beautiful, with calm waters and golden tones creating a peaceful atmosphere to conclude the day.
